Peaty Nose is an independent whisky tasting, training and spirits consultancy based in Scotland.
Founded by Peter Sim, the project brings together experience in hospitality, whisky education and distilling. Through tastings, professional training and consultancy, Peaty Nose helps enthusiasts, hospitality teams and businesses develop a deeper understanding of whisky and the wider world of spirits.
Peter is also a working distiller, bringing a practical understanding of spirit production to his work with whisky and other spirits. This perspective — from both sides of the glass — shapes the approach taken in tastings, training and consultancy.
Whisky is both a craft and a culture. A good tasting or training session should not only explain how a spirit is made, but also how it is experienced — the places, traditions and stories that surround it.
Peaty Nose works with private clients, hospitality venues and organisations seeking to explore whisky and premium spirits in greater depth, whether through structured training, curated tastings or consultancy on drinks programmes.
